Having produced an exceptional start to her racing career in her current and maiden preparation, New Zealand raider Costa Viva is currently featured as outright favourite for success in the 2014 Gold Coast Guineas, currently offered at a quote of $5, ahead of Dothraki ($5.50), Enquare and Havana; currently tied on the third line of betting at even $6 odds.

Will Costa Viva justify favouritism and win the 2014 Gold Coast Guineas, or will one of her classy opponents find the line in the clear this Saturday?

1st

Dothraki ($5.50)

A competitive performer over two notable starts throughout autumn, Dothraki represents excellent value for Gold Coast Guineas success at current $5.50 odds. Securing a total of two wins and five places from just eleven race starts to date, the Mossman colt displayed an impressive turn of foot to finish third amongst classy company in the Listed Gosford Guineas (1200m) first-up on April 6th before overcoming a check and poor field position to run on for fifth in the Group 2 Royal Sovereign Stakes (1200m) last time out. Having been allocated the ideal barrier 5, Dothraki will be partnered by standout autumn jockey Nash Rawiller and will be particularly difficult to beat this weekend.

2nd

Enquare ($6)

Securing an impressive total of five wins and three places from 10 race starts to date, Enquare will have to overcome the wide and awkward barrier 18 if to continue her scintillating run of form in the Gold Coast Guineas. Securing three consecutive victories at the beginning of her current season including both the Listed Beach House Bar Mode Plate (1200m) and Group 3 Vo Rogue Plate (1350m), the Stratum filly finished third in the Magic Millions Guineas (1400m) last time out and will be partnered by jockey Jim Byrne for this first time this weekend. Displaying odds of $2.70 to secure a place, Enquare is well and truly worth a wager in the Gold Coast Guineas.

3rd

Costa Viva ($5)

Yet to finish outside the places in six competitive starts to date, Costa Viva has so-far received the market share of wagers for success in the 2014 Gold Coast Guineas, having registered as clear $5 market mover and opening at odds of nearly $10. Trained by Jason Bridgman in New Zealand, the Encosta De Lago filly strolled home to win the Group 1 New Zealand 1000 Guineas (1600m) on November 16th; continuing her strong run of form when second in the Group 2 Eight Carat Classic (1600m) and third in the Group 3 Desert Gold Stakes (1600m) most recently.
