Takedown has continued to attract the greatest share of attention in 2016 Gold Coast Guineas betting markets and remains clear $3.50 favourite with leading online bookie Ladbrokes.com.au.

Takedown has been a strong and consistent performer for Gary Moore through his entire racing career so far; posting a commendable three wins and four minors through only twelve competitive starts.

Trialling well in the lead-up to his return this time, the son of Stratum ran second in the Listed Fireball Stakes (1100m) first-up before placing fourth in the Listed Darby Munro (1200m) on March 19th.

Having savaged the line for third in the talent-rich Group 2 Arrowfield Sprint (1200m) on April 9th, Takedown could very well receive the run of the race form barrier 5 and will be partnered by Tim Clark in the Gold Coast Guineas.

Santa Ana Lane has continued to receive steady support for success this weekend and remains outright second-favourite to win the three-year-old feature at Gold Coast Guineas odds of $3.60.

Lee and Anthony Freedman have a big opinion of Santa Ana Lane, who will be very hard to beat on Saturday from barrier 2 and with leading local hoop Damian Browne in the saddle.

Finishing outside the first three only twice in seven career starts, the Lope De Vega gelding resumed this time for an impressive win in the Group 3 Zeditave Stakes (1200m) but failed to fire when ninth in the Darby Munro second-up.

Responding well for second in the Listed South Pacific Stakes (1400m) on Day 2 of The Championships, Santa Ana Lane placed third amongst classy company in the E-Group Security BM83 (1200m) on April 16th.

Sold For Song has been charged with overcoming a wide and awkward draw in the 2016 Gold Coast Guineas but remains sole occupant of the third line at generous $11 odds.

Yet to finish worse than second through an impressive four starts career, Sold For Song capped an impressive debut preparation with success in the Listed Gold Edition Plate (1200m) and returned this time for second in the Listed Mick Dittman Plate (1000m) a fortnight ago.
